Tip #1: Add a
Facebook button to your email newsletter. You should be sending out an
enewsletter at least once a month – at least. I don’t care what anyone says,
email marketing is still one of the most effective forms of marketing out
there. The caveat is that you have to get people to open your emails with an
interesting subject line AND offer valuable tips once you’ve got them inside
the email. But I digress…
In your enewsletter template, add a Facebook button and
encourage people to go Likes you on Facebook. It’s also helpful to run a contest
and give them a GOOD reason to go like you (like a giveaway or special
discount, etc.).
Tip #2: Add a
Facebook Like Box to your website. If you have a WordPress website, you can
get the Facebook Likes. Otherwise, your web developer can add this
usually in under an hour (most often it only takes about 20 minutes).
The great thing about this is that people can Like your
Facebook page RIGHT from your website! What I love about that is that you can
keep people on your website (which is where you ultimately want them to be) and
you can add new fans! It’s a win-win.
Tip #3: Add a
Facebook button to your email signature. One of the best (and most
under-utilized) pieces of your marketing real estate is your email signature.
Think about it: How many times a day do you send out emails to people? Do you
have a call to action in your signature? Do you encourage people to go connect
with you on social sites? If not, then this is the FIRST tip you need to
implement right now.
